Filmed and edited in High-Definition, {L} elegantly captures the trials and triumphs of life's experiences and perspectives, preserving forever the life journey of your loved ones.

Choosing Your {Experience}

{L} understands that the life story of a loved one can never be completely explored and preserved on film. However, our exclusive service makes every attempt to bring as much of the human experience to light as possible so that future generations will continue to benefit from the trials and triumphs of their own unique family history.

We have divided our comprehensive production into five distinct parts, each carefully designed to examine and document every important stage of life's journey and to aid younger generations with the type of perspective and age-old wisdom that can only come from extensive time spent navigating life on this earth.

Within this website you can carefully review the topics covered in each of these five parts to determine which stage(s) of your loved one's life experience you and your family are most interested in discovering together. You can then select from our {L} exclusive family film production packages. Each package is a priceless heirloom, a unique product whose value increases over the time. It's not a "home movie" but rather a thorough discovery; a digital heritage of the highest quality; an investment in the future legacy of your family.

After receiving your selection(s) our Creative Director, Scott Valentine, will coordinate a consultation appointment with you to carefully review and examine your chosen areas of interest so that together we can effectively create a customized {Living Experience} of your loved one that is intimate and extensive yet professionally discreet - a personalized digital legacy to be cherished forever by generations of your family.

The Interviews

The {L} Interview Questionnaire consists of more than 550 questions; each specifically designed to examine and explore the unique memories, philosophies and experiences of a lifetime. Interviews will be conducted in the client's residence in order to ensure the greatest level of comfort is given to them while at the same time ensuring the least amount of inconvenience possible to them during production. Interviews will be conducted in two-hour blocks throughout the course of one week, ranging in a total estimated length of two to fourteen hours depending upon the selected {Experience}.

This thorough outline provides our editing team with a detailed account of the genealogy, history and incredibly unique perspective of your loved one, ensuring an accurate presentation of each life experience upon completion of the final Blu-ray film product.

In addition to The Interviews, we highly recommend that our clients share with us any photographs, keepsakes and/or historical documentation they may have. The inclusion of these historical family references within the final film helps further personalize and enhance {L} for future generations of your family.

The Production

{L} is a professional film production. Professional interview lighting, backdrop design and audio recording equipment, along with our High-Definition video cameras, ensure that the highest quality sound and video imaging will be captured during the filming of your unique experience.

Final Cut and Adobe Production editing software enables our team to beautifully and fluidly present your story while our professional Blu-ray disk printing and publishing equipment ensures that the entire resolution capabilities of {L} is fully utilized - a service that is not offered anywhere else in Greater Victoria. We are confident that upon viewing your exclusive family film you will feel closer to your loved one than ever before - no matter how many generations have come and gone between you.

The true power of {L} comes from the intimate and candid manner with which it's clients embrace the interview process. The deeper a loved one is willing to go into the memories, reflections and opinions they have gathered during their lifetime on this earth, the richer and more meaningful the experience will become for those who are given the opportunity to watch, listen and learn directly from them.

With this unique medium we give the stories of a loved one the greatest opportunity to be remembered by capturing and preserving them with grace, dignity and style. Who doesn't want the chance to intimately discover the life of a parent or grandparent - who they are, where they come from and what they are made of? In order to truly share the experience of this life- to make a real connection between generations - we need to make every effort to communicate to our children and grandchildren in the language that they understand. We believe that lanuage is high-definition film; our children are coming to demand it and our grandchildren will come to expect it.

Upon completion of filming, post-production and duplication, you and your family will be presented with 5 copies of your final family film on Blu-ray disc. By allowing us to help you preserve your story in high-defintion video, you will be taking the steps needed to strengthen this bond between the ages so that the young can continue to grow and learn from the wisdom of your {Living Experience}.

 

The Team

Due to the extremely personal and exclusive nature of our service, our {L} production crew is small, professional and discreet. We will quickly and carefully set-up and tear down our high-quality production equipment within the client's residence forty-five minutes prior to the scheduled interview appointment. The extensive time commitment required for the post-production stages of editing and duplication of the final film product requires us to secure a deposit of half the contracted production cost at this time.

Interviews will be ideally hosted in the largest and quietest available room in the house in which ambient light (windows, skylights, etc) and background noise (phones, kids, pets, etc) can be most effectively controlled. It is also requested that the interview be conducted solely with the client and the interviewer in attendance as to ensure the least amount of interruption and/or distraction possible.

We understand and appreciate the delicate nature of these memories and experiences and believe that in order to achieve and maintain the best results throughout such an intimate interview process, a professional yet personal atmosphere of trust, respect and discretion must be established. Therefore all {L} interviews will be conducted by Creative Director, Scott Valentine.

Scott developed {L} out of his passion for improving learning and growth between generations of all cultures by encouraging open and sincere communication. He is driven by a strong desire to bring human beings closer to one another through the preservation and presentation of their remarkable and unique life experiences. His own personal story has also led him to a much deeper and richer appreciation for the people closest to him; Scott lost his only brother to a senseless act of violence, his step-father to cancer and his beloved grandparents to the inevitable sweep of time within the past eleven years and understands the need to cherish every moment; every story; every word.

Having not had the opportunity to capture and preserve the stories of such important people in his own life, Scott is personally and professionally committed to helping families and friends throughout communities of the world document, discover and cherish the experiences of their own loved one's now and forever.
